myClubGolf RyderCup · Effective July 16, 2026
myClubGolf RyderCup ("the app") is used to run a club's Ryder Cup-style team event:
match-play pairings, hole-by-hole results, and standings for a private golf group.
What we collect
- Player name (first and last).
- Team assignment and match/session results — which side won each hole and match, not a
stroke-by-stroke gross score.
- Handicap index, either entered manually or looked up from the USGA GHIN network if a
player is linked to their GHIN number.
- If linked to a GHIN number: the GHIN ID and club affiliation, used only to fetch the
handicap index.
- If a course is added by scanning a photo of a physical scorecard: that photo is sent to
Anthropic's Claude API to read the par and handicap value for each hole. The photo is of a
golf course's printed scorecard, not of any person, and isn't tied to any player account.
What we don't do
- We don't run ads and don't use any third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
- We don't sell or share your data with anyone outside of running the event itself.
- We don't collect location, contacts, or device identifiers.
- There's no account system and no login — the app has no way to identify who is using
it beyond the player names entered into an event's roster.
Who can see your data
Match results and standings are visible to anyone using the app to view that event, the
same way a posted leaderboard at the club would be. Roster, course, and match setup ("Captains"
features) aren't behind a password — this app is built for a single private club's own event,
run by people who already know and trust each other, not for the general public.
GHIN integration
If a player is linked to their GHIN number, the app contacts the USGA/GHIN API to retrieve
their handicap index. This is the same information already public on GHIN.com to anyone who
looks up that golfer's name.
Data retention
Results and event history are kept as part of the event's ongoing record (season-over-season
standings, history). Contact us using the email below if you'd like your data removed.
